
Saturday night on Jalan Veteran, Karangasem—better known as Jalur 11—felt different. The atmosphere of Malioboro was present with a touch of East Bali. Thousands of residents flocked to the launch of the “Karangasem Weekend” (KAP) program, initiated by the Regent of Karangasem, I Gusti Putu Parwata, on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Combining entertainment, culinary delights, and empowerment of local MSMEs, KAP has become a new oasis for the people of Karangasem to relax, travel, and support the local economy.
A Grand Launch Amidst the Enthusiasm of Residents

The opening ceremony began at 7:00 p.m. WITA, marked by the beating of drums and baleganjur music. Also present to show their support were: Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from Bali I, Gede Sumarjaya Linggih, businessman Ajik Krisna, the Karangasem Regional Leadership Council (Forkopimda), and other prominent figures. Additionally, the entertainment stage was enlivened by the bands OWLIN, SANDIKALA, and Roy Jeconiah, the former lead vocalist of Boomerang, who successfully ignited the enthusiasm of the people of Karangasem.

The next day, Sunday morning, residents gathered again in a relaxed atmosphere to participate in a fun walk and exercise session with the CFD Fun Crew. The event concluded with a prize draw and entertainment from Semaya Koplo.
Karangasem MSMEs Shine Bright

KAP is an open space for small, micro, and creative businesses in Karangasem. Dozens of stands are lined up displaying local specialties, traditional clothing, and local innovations. Not only do they sell their products, but they also interact directly with enthusiastic customers who try and buy their products.
